Project G.L.A.M and the Clippers Foundation Prom Dress Giveaway
This year, we were lucky to be a part of some amazing events across the country. From WGIRLS, Inc.’s Project G.L.A.M. in New York to the Clippers Foundation’s Prom Dress Giveaway in L.A., we got to be a part of something even bigger than dresses – helping girls in need attend their prom confidently and in style.
For so many families, prom can be an intimidatingly expensive event, and many young women aren’t able to attend. We wanted to do something for these girls and help them have an amazing night at prom without worrying about the cost. The team here at Ever-Pretty donated some of our favorite Ever-Pretty styles to these events so that girls who normally couldn’t afford a prom dress could walk out with a head-to-toe outfit – for free! These events provided a fun, comfortable space for hundreds of high school girls to browse racks of prom dresses, look at accessories, and get makeup tips and styling help from on-site experts.
The girls tried on outfits, posed for photos, and had an overall great time. “Growing up, I didn’t have much,” said prom dress giveaway recipient Kaylee Howard. “So having this – it’s everything. Even looking in the mirror, I’m like…that’s me! In a dress I never thought would be on me!”
None of this would have been possible without our incredible partners: the YWCA, WGIRLS, Inc., Fairy Godmothers, and the Clippers Foundation. Thank you to everyone who made these events so successful and so inspiring. We were so happy to be a part of these special events, and hope that these young women had an unforgettable time at their proms!
