Fashion will never be the same. Yes, these are real dresses from Viktor & Rolf’s Spring 2019 Couture Collection. Released during Fashion Week in Paris the collection featured oversized silhouettes, transparent ruffles, puffed sleeves, and are full of bold and meme-inspired slogans. Viktor Horsting and Rolf Snoeren titled this collection Fashion Statements. “To what extent can you say something with clothing, literally” they said backstage. Each dress is a definited mood and a Twitter reaction waiting to be posted.
If you have yet to see Viktor & Rolf’s super creative line, don’t worry, we’ve put together some highlights.
There are not just negative reaction-primed memes, there are also many positive messages in this collection. Such as one black dress bearing “I want a better world” with a smiling sun and one pink dress that reads “Freedom” alongside an eagle which has an overt reference to American democracy, etc.
Whether you are a fashionista or not, it cannot be denied that Viktor & Rolf’s Spring 2019 Couture Collection is pretty profound stuff. Do you love it or not? Tell us your thoughts in the comments below!
